Hey, It's April Fool Day...

I've always wondered why people in North America and Europe celebrate April Fool's day. Not that making jokes on the Day of the Holy Innocents (Dia de los Santos Inocentes) makes any sense either.
Apparently it all has to do with the change to the Gregorian Calendar, April 1rst used to be New Year's day and with the adoption of the Gregorian Calendar this holiday moved to January 1rst but not everyone heard about it, or simply forgot and continued their New Year visits on April 1rst which caused them to be mocked and others simply found pleasure in playing prank visits to them.

So there, I satisfied my curiosity and maybe other people's.

"April 1st: This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three-hundred and sixty-four." — Mark Twain (Took it from Wikipedia, cause it made so much sense!)
